HOUSTON – A disturbance along the coast will bring heavy rains for parts of the Houston Friday afternoon, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner said.
There is a 50 percent chance of rain for the Houston area with the communities south of I-10 and along the coast getting most of the showers.
The chance for rain will increase later this evening as the coastal low, which is causing the rain, gets squeezed by a frontal boundary moving in from the northwest.
The showers are expected to clear out by Saturday morning. Friday kicked off with lows in the upper-50s and highs are expected to top off mid-70s.
There will still be a 20 percent chance for rain Saturday morning, but Sunday is looking clear and dry again.
Next week, our daytime temperatures will range from the mid-to upper-70s under mostly sunny skies.
