HOUSTON – New Years Eve will require an umbrella as a front moves through the area Monday evening putting a bit of a damper on the holiday celebrations, KHOU 11 News Meteorologists Chita Johnson said.
The slow moving front will arrive late this evening just as 2012 comes to a close and could bring anywhere from ½ inch to 2 inches of rainfall.
Before 3 p.m., there will be a 30 percent chance of scattered showers, but that will increase to 80 percent as the afternoon progresses.
The high for Monday will be 66 as the area experiences a 15-degree increase from the weekend’s cold weather.
