HOUSTON – It will be a warm and muggy 4th of July morning with a small chance for rain showers.

According to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul, temps kick off in the upper-70s with a 20-percent rain chance and top off at 92 degrees.

“It will be wet and stormy in the afternoon,” said Paul. “The rain should end by 8 p.m.”

There is a 50-percent rain chance Friday afternoon and this weekend it goes down to 30-percent.

You’ll want to keep the umbrella handy for the next seven days as there’s a lingering chance for rain next week too.

Overnight lows will be muggy and in the upper-70s.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Arthur reached land about 11:15 p.m. Thursday between Cape Lookout and Beaufort, North Carolina. Arthur was a Category 2 storm with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph (155 kph).
