HOUSTON – The sun is expected to finally break through as the rain and clouds begin the clear on Sunday, KHOU 11 Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

The Houston area received plenty of heavy rains Saturday with surrounding cities like Baytown receiving anywhere from a ½ inch to an inch of rain.

The highs Sunday should be much warmer than Saturday, which never got warmer than the mid-40s. Expect temperatures to peak Sunday afternoon at 60 once the sky clears up.

It will still be a chilly morning Sunday with overnight lows in the mid-30s for most of the KHOU 11 News viewing area.
