HOUSTON – Summer showers will return this week to the Houston area as a frontal boundary makes its way across the state, according to the KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

The work week will start off with temperatures in the mid-70s before peaking at 92 Monday afternoon. We could see showers both in the morning and around midday before it clears up in the afternoon.

There is about a 40 percent chance of rain on Monday.

We will see another round of showers once the frontal boundary moves through late Monday and early Tuesday with a 50 percent chance of rain.

Some of the storms may be severe with heavy rains, gusty winds and hail.

The frontal boundary will lower temps a little on Tuesday, but expect to highs in the low-90s and overnight lows in the mid-70s for the rest of the week.
