HOUSTON – The counties north of the Houston metro area are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until late Friday evening, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
The weather watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for the following counties: Grimes, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker and Washington. The threat includes the possibility of damaging winds, hail and intense lightning.
There’s a 30-percent chance for rain Friday evening as temps begin to cool off into the 70s. Expect to see overnight lows in the upper-50s.
This weekend is looking really nice.
Starting Saturday there will be just a few clouds in the sky with high temps in the upper-70s.
The pleasant conditions continue through at least next Tuesday. A slight chance for rain returns in the middle of next week.
