HOUSTON – Scattered downpours will continue to move inland off the coast into southeast Texas on Tuesday morning, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

"Today we have a brief chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm," said Johnson. "Our daytime temperatures will top out in the upper-80s and lower-90s."

There’s only a 30-percent chance for rain throughout the day.

The sun returns for the rest of this week, and by the weekend we could be looking at afternoon temperatures near 100 degrees.

Next week a slight chance for rain returns, but the afternoon temps will remain hot.
