HOUSTON – There is a chance for scattered showers this weekend as tropical moisture from the Gulf continues to move into the area, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
Expect to see some showers develop near the coast Saturday morning with a 20 percent chance for rain. Those showers should creep inland around 9 a.m. as the chance for rain slowly increases after lunch to 40 percent.
Some of the showers could even make their way as far inland as the Interstate 10 corridor in west Houston.
Temperatures will start out in the mid-70s Saturday morning before reaching the 90s in the afternoon.
Come Sunday, there is still the possibility for scattered showers with a 30 percent chance for rain.
Hopefully, the rain will not put a damper on this weekend’s outdoor events like the Gay Pride Parade and the Grand Prix of Houston.
Starting Monday, skies should start to clear up a bit, but it will stay hot and muggy through the work week.
Our next rain after that could come next weekend.
