HOUSTON -– Friday will bring another hot and muggy afternoon to the Houston area as scattered rain and storms move in off the coast.
"Tropical moisture will continue to move inland from the Gulf throughout the weekend," said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez. "Our futuretrack shows showers through the rush hour today."
For those areas that don't get any of the rain, it'll mostly be hot with a mix of sun and clouds.
There's a 30-percent chance for rain Friday with a forecast high of 96 degrees.
This weather trend continues through the weekend with a slight increase in the chance for rain starting the middle of next week.
Out in the Caribbean, Gabrielle lost its tropical storm status early Thursday. While it brought heavy rain to Puerto Rico, it's now expected to fall apart into a low-pressure system.
