HOUSTON – Scattered rain showers are expected to impact the Houston area this weekend, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

Saturday morning temps will kick off in the low-70s with a 20-percent rain chance.

Saturday temps will top out at 87 in the afternoon. It will be warm and muggy with a 50-percent chance for rain for the rest of the day.

The scattered, isolated showers and warm temps continue heading into next week.

Our next break from the heat comes later next week heading into the weekend. Daytime temps should drop back into the mid-70s with mostly clear skies by Thursday.

We are keeping an eye on the tropics as there is a 50 percent chance that Lorenzo could develop out in the mid-Atlantic. However, most models have it heading northwest up the Atlantic Coast if it develops into an organized storm system.
