HOUSTON — Heavy rains are expected to wine down Friday evening after parts of the Houston area received torrential downpours this afternoon, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner said.
The communities north of the Houston metro area and to the west of the city will see the most rainfall for the rest of the day. Katy, Richmond and Tomball, which has received 2 inches, are still experiencing heavy rains.
However, as of Friday afternoon, no severe weather has appeared on the weather map except for some wind gusts.
The chance for scattered showers will continue into the weekend with a 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday and a 40 percent chance Sunday.
The partly cloudy skies with scattered showers carry over into next week as well with afternoon temperatures near 100 degrees.
