HOUSTON – Tropical moisture continues to build up in the Gulf and is expected to bring some rain to the Houston area late Tuesday, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
The work week will start off comfortable with overnight temps in the upper-60s for most of the area. Highs will peak in the low-90s Monday afternoon.
Monday will stay pretty dry with only a 10 percent chance of rain, but later in the evening we will definitely begin to feel the moisture build up from the Gulf.
However, don’t expect to see too much rainfall until Tuesday evening when there will be a 30 percent chance for rain.
While the chance for rain will be steady through most of the week, Houston is unlikely to get the bulk of the rain from the tropical moisture building up in the Gulf.
In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Erin is fluctuating in strength and is not very well organized. Gomez said it is basically no threat to land.
