HOUSTON -- A cold front in mid-July? Cooler air is dropping temperatures north of Texas and could bring rain to the Houston area, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“This front will fire up thunderstorms, and that’s what happened Monday night in Dallas,” said Johnson. “These storms will continue to move south, and as they do that front will stall over Houston and create widespread storms for us locally this afternoon.”
There’s a 50-percent chance for rain Tuesday with a forecast high of 94 degrees.
Wednesday and Thursday the chance for scattered showers continues as temps drop a few degrees.
Friday the rain chance jumps to 60-percent as our afternoon high temps decrease into the upper-80s and low-90s.
We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds this weekend with a continuing chance for rain.
Next week our daytime temps will creep back into the mid- to upper-90s, so enjoy the brief relief from the heat!
