HOUSTON – Rain returns to the Houston area this weekend with showers developing by Saturday evening, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
Temps started out in the 50s this morning and will hover in the 60s for the remainder of the day as clouds and moisture continues to build up in the area.
There is a 30 percent chance for rain Saturday, but Sunday is slated to be the wetter of the two days.
By 6 a.m. on Sunday, the coastal counties will start seeing some storms develop in the area with temps in the 50s again. By 10 a.m., the communities to the north and west of the Houston metro area could see some heavy thunderstorms with the potential to dump about an inch of rain.
The storms will be strong with some wind gusts, but severe weather is not expected at this time.
They should clear the area by Monday morning giving way to clear skies and warmer temps.
