HOUSTON –- Summer has returned to southeast Texas in the form of hot, sunny, and humid days, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“We have a dome of heat that’s moving in,” said Johnson. “It’s going to keep out our rain chances, and it’s going to increase our temperatures.”
There’s a forecast high of 96 degrees this afternoon with no chance for rain in the seven-day forecast.
The temperatures continue to climb this week, and by this weekend our afternoon highs will be topping out around 100 degrees. The humidity will make it feel even hotter than that, however.
Looking at the Atlantic, there’s a system we’re watching that has a pretty good chance of developing into a tropical storm in the next 48 hours. It's too early to forecast the system's path, should it continue to develop.
