HOUSTON – Keep a scarf and gloves handy if you don’t already have them nearby as the chilly weather continues Monday afternoon, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.

Temperatures will not get much warmer with a high of 52 expected, and the 20 mph winds will make it feel even colder.

Later this evening expect an even bigger change as the temperature drops about 15 degrees possibly reaching freezing levels.

Be sure to check your furnace to ensure that it is working properly, cover and wrap plants and water pipes, bring in outdoor pets and check in on those who made need assistance like the elderly.
