HOUSTON – Tuesday afternoon will not get much warmer with temperatures peaking in the mid-50s as the area prepares for another cold night, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

The high at noon in downtown Houston was 49, but later this evening, expect temperatures to drop fast after the sun sets.

There could be another freeze warning issued later this evening with temperatures dropping to the mid-40s by 10 p.m. and into the 30s overnight.

By Wednesday morning we will again bottom out in the low-30s, but things will warm up from there.

Afternoon temps will be in the 60s and 70s toward the end of the week.

There’s a 40-percent chance of rain on Saturday as temps top out at 75-degrees.
