HOUSTON – Early morning temperatures across southeast Texas were already in the upper-70s before the sun came up on Friday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

Today’s forecast high is 97 degrees with less than a 10-percent chance for isolated showers in the afternoon.

Some clouds will linger over the weekend, but it will still be mostly sunny and hot.

“It’s going to be another hot one on Father’s Day,” said Johnson. “It may be a good time to get poolside with your dad.”

Next week our overnight temps stay in the mid- to upper-70s. Our daytime temperatures will be in the mid- to-upper 90s with no significant chance for rain.
