HOUSTON -– Early Wednesday was muggy and dry across southeast Texas, but that could change later this afternoon, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“Most of your day will be dry, and then this afternoon we have about a 20-percent chance for downpours,” said Johnson.
Early this morning we were in the upper-70s. This afternoon we’ll top out around 97 degrees.
The slight chance for showers continues Thursday as our temperatures climb a few more degrees heading into the weekend.
By Sunday our rain chance jumps to 40 percent, and the rain carries over into the start of our next work week.
Looking at the tropics, we’re continuing to track Tropical Storm Chantal. Right now its track has it heading east of Florida. Its forecast does not show it strengthening much, and it may remain a tropical storm.
