HOUSTON – This week will be another hot one in southeast Texas, but the chance for rain is gone, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

“The big change this week is high pressure is moving in, and the rain is moving out,” said Johnson.

Temperatures in the early morning hours Monday were in the mid- to upper-70s, and it’s only going to get hotter from there.

Monday afternoon we’ll top out around 96 degrees under sunny skies.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and hot temps in the afternoon hours the rest of this week. We’ll near 100 degrees on Thursday and Friday.

Looking to the Atlantic, what’s left of Dorian has a 50 percent chance of reforming back into a tropical storm. If it does, it will retain the name Dorian. Its forecast path has it moving toward Cuba over the next several days.
