HOUSTON -- The scattered showers and thunderstorms will return on Wednesday, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

“I think the morning commute may have some rain showers,” Paul said. “It will be hit or miss.”

Wednesday temps start in the lower-70’s and top off at 89 degrees with a 40-percent chance for rain..

“It’s humid for the rest of the workweek,” Paul said.

The chance for scattered rain continues the rest of this week with daytime highs around 90 degrees and overnight lows in the lower-70s.

This weekend a cool front will move through the Houston area, leaving us with clear skies by Sunday. Early Sunday morning our temps will bottom out around 60 degrees, and in the afternoon we'll reach a high in the low- to mid-80s.

Monday morning may be even cooler, but daytime heating will quickly get us back into the 80s.
