HOUSTON -- Scattered rain will continue to move inland off the coast Tuesday morning, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

"Taking a look at a broad view on our HD doppler, most of this rain is dying off as it gets closer into town," said Johnson. "It's mainly just spotty showers in the city and then heavier downpours closer to the coast this morning. We'll get a brief break, and then the scattered rain will return this afternoon."

There’s a 30-percent chance for rain Tuesday with temps topping off in the mid-90s.

By Wednesday the rain chance goes away, leaving us with mostly clear skies through the weekend.

Temperatures jump a couple of degrees later this week with forecast highs in the mid- to upper-90s, and a chance for rain returns early next week.

Looking to the Atlantic, we’re watching Tropical Storm Humberto. The storm far from land and is expected to turn northward as a hurricane sometime Tuesday. It’s of no threat to the U.S.
