HOUSTON -- A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday for Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, Washington, and Wharton counties.

Some parts of town have received six inches of rain in the last 24 hours.

By 9:30 a.m. the worst of Tuesday's weather had moved into the Gulf, but KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner says light to moderate rainfall will continue into our afternoon hours.

Another round of heavy rain could hit Houston starting at 3 p.m.

The rain will clear out Tuesday evening but not for long. A chance for rain returns Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with scattered showers on Saturday, too.

Sunday things will finally start to dry out.

Our daytime temps this week will be in the upper-70s and low-80s thanks to the rainfall. Next week we'll get back into the upper-80s and low-90s as sunshine returns.
