HOUSTON -– An upper-level high is keeping southeast Texas dry and hot, despite our need for some rain.
Much of the Houston area is under severe to extreme drought conditions, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
Our forecast high Thursday afternoon is 98 degrees with winds around 12 mph. There will only be a few clouds in the sky.
The afternoon temperatures stay hot through the weekend, but there is a slight chance for isolated showers starting Friday. Our rain chances peak at 20 percent on Sunday and Monday.
Next week looks pretty dry, as well.
Overnight lows will remain in the mid- to upper-70s for the next seven days.
