HOUSTON -- The chance for rain increases as we head into the afternoon hours on Thursday, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
Overnight showers made Houston’s freeways slick out the door early Thursday, and even more rain is on the way.
We’ll top out around 85 degrees this afternoon.
“We’re going to have breezy winds, cloudy conditions, and humidity throughout the day,” said Johnson. “Rain chances will start to increase around lunchtime, and then this afternoon after about 3 through about 10 p.m. we’re going to see about a 70-percent chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms.”
Friday stays warm and humid with a 60-percent chance for rain.
Saturday and Sunday are looking nicer with scattered clouds and a slight rain chance, but it will still be warm and muggy outside.
Monday and Tuesday the rain chance increases once again.
The rest of next week will be sunnier with daytime temps in the mid-80s and overnight lows in the mid-60s.
