HOUSTON – Light showers will move through the Houston area Thursday afternoon as part of a cold front that will bring chilly temperatures for the evening, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
Houston will likely avoid any severe weather after heavy storms moved more towards East Texas earlier on Thursday. There is still a 60 percent chance of rain this afternoon with the showers expected to clear out by 6 p.m.
While temperatures will peak at about 73 on Thursday, the cold front will drop them down to the mid-40s this evening.
On Friday, temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s in the morning and in the upper-60s in the afternoon.
