HOUSTON -- Scattered showers will continue throughout the rest of the day, but most of the rain will move out of the Houston area by this evening, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

“There are still some light to moderate showers coming off the coast that will work their way inland throughout the afternoon,” said Garner. “It won’t be as steady as this morning, but there will still be some pockets of heavy rain.”

Today’s forecast high is 84 degrees with a 70-percent chance for showers.

Thursday the rain chance drops to 20 percent as the afternoon temperatures go back up into the 90s.

Scattered showers will still be possible through the weekend as our temperatures continue to climb just a few more degrees. After today, the chance for rain is only 20 to 30 percent.
