HOUSTON -- We can expect another hot afternoon with isolated showers across the Houston area on Wednesday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
“As of lunchtime we already had clouds building across much of our region,” said Garner. “There is a sea breeze approaching the I-10 corridor, and once it mixes with the heating of the day is when some of these showers will pop up.”
Early this morning we were in the upper-70s. This afternoon we’ll top out around 96 degrees with a 20-percent chance for rain.
The chance for afternoon showers continues through the weekend.
We’re continuing to track Tropical Storm Chantal. Right now its track has it hitting South Florida before heading east into the Atlantic. Its forecast does not show it strengthening much, and it may remain a tropical storm.
