HOUSTON -- Much-needed rain stayed well north of Houston area overnight, unfortunately.
KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson says there's still a slight chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday, but we'll likely stay dry in most parts of town.
There's a 40-percent chance for rain today with an afternoon high of 84 degrees. Even without the rain, it'll be very muggy and humid.
Saturday there's a 30-percent chance for rain with even warmer daytime temps.
It will be sunnier on Mother's Day with warm daytime temperatures.
Monday and Tuesday the chance for scattered rain returns.
Next week we will get a nice little drop in the temps. We'll be in the low-80s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with overnight lows in the low-60s.
