HOUSTON -– Our early-morning temperatures were in the upper-70s on Monday, but by this afternoon we’ll be well into the 90s, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

Monday’s forecast high is 95 degrees under sunny skies. The humidity will make it feel more like it’s in the low-100s, however.

“I wish I could tell you we were going to see rain,” said Johnson. “For the next couple of days we’re going to continue to see a chance for thunderstorms in North Texas and in Oklahoma. These storms will develop and then move east, so I’m not expecting any rain for Houston for the entire week.”

On Tuesday there’s a 10-percent chance for small, isolated showers.

Afternoon temperatures will remain in the mid-90s for the rest of the week.

On Saturday and Sunday the chance for isolated showers goes up just a little.
