HOUSTON — The weather in the Houston area will be hot all weekend long, but there’s a slight chance for isolated showers on Sunday, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
An upper-level high pressure system has kept southeast Texas dry for the last several days, but there is a 20 percent chance of rain for Sunday.
The Galveston Bay area and Brazoria County are the communities that are the most likely to see rain Sunday. There is only slight chance that the Houston metro area could see rain.
That is not good news considering we continue to experience a deficit of 10 inches in rainfall for the year.
Temperatures will peak in the upper-90s again, but be aware of the heat index, which could range from 105 to 108 degrees.
By Monday we will be hot and sunny again with no chance for rain. Next week looks even hotter with temperatures near 100 degrees.
