HOUSTON – Monday will be hot with a chance for scattered rain, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
Throughout the day today, temperatures will build into the mid-90s, so it’s going to be a hot day. There is a chance for rain mainly after 1 p.m.
There’s a 20-percent chance for rain with a forecast high of 94 degrees.
For the next seven days the chance for scattered rain continues, but our afternoon highs will drop a few degrees later this week.
Overnight lows will continue to be in the mid-70s.
Ingrid made landfall early Monday morning in Mexico and was quickly downgraded from hurricane to tropical storm status.
The storm, along with Tropical Storm Manuel, had already killed more than 20 people in Mexico. It will send breezy winds and scattered rains into Texas, but most of the flooding will remain well south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
