HOUSTON — We’re now less than 24 hours from the official start of summer – and it feels like it.

According to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner, Friday evening will continue to be hot and muggy for the Houston area. Expect a very slowing cooling effect with temps in the mid-80s.

Saturday morning, we’ll wake up to lows in the upper-70s for what will likely be a pleasant day to be outdoors, including going to the beach. There is a small chance rain in the afternoon with the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm developing.

Expect to see more of the same conditions on Sunday.

We’ll top out in the low- to mid-90s for the next several days. However, early next week a new chance for rain moves in.

By next Wednesday and Thursday scattered showers could cool our temperatures a bit for next weekend.
