HOUSTON – We’re one day closer to the weekend, and we’re one day closer to hitting triple digits in the Houston area, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“Temperatures this morning started off in the mid- to lower-80s,” said Johnson. “It is going to be another hot day today. We do have some clouds moving in from the west, but I am expecting us to remain dry today and tomorrow.”
Thursday’s forecast high is 98 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Friday we’ll top out around 100 degrees.
It stays hot this weekend, but there’s a slight chance for scattered showers on Saturday and Sunday.
Next week things stay dry and on the hot side.
Looking to the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Dorian continues to move west-north-west with maximum sustained winds at 60 mph. It’s too soon to tell if the tropical system will have any effect on the U.S., but it's something to keep an eye on heading into next week.
