HOUSTON – A cold front will move the Houston area Sunday afternoon bringing severe thunderstorms the communities north of the city like Huntsville and Conroe, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
There is a 50 percent chance of rain for the area putting a damper on the Mardi Gras celebration going on this weekend in Galveston.
Sunday will be much warmer than Saturday with temperatures peaking in the mid-70s for most of the area.
The cold weather returns next week. Highs will be in the 60s, and the lows will be in the 30s beginning on Wednesday.
