HOUSTON – A cool front will mix with tropical moisture to bring a lot of rain to southeast Texas on Friday and Saturday, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“Early this morning we already had some deep tropical moisture moving in off the Gulf,” said Johnson. “A front moving in from the north will bring even more rain tonight heading into Saturday. There could be some localized flooding by early Saturday morning.”
There’s an 80-percent chance for rain Friday and a 60-percent chance Saturday.
Our daytime highs through the weekend will only reach the mid- to upper-80s.
By Sunday the skies should be a lot clearer, leaving us with daytime highs in the low-90s and overnight lows in the low-70s early next week.
Looking to the southwestern part of the Gulf of Mexico, we are still watching a disturbance that will likely bring more rain to Mexico and portions of Texas, although the National Hurricane Center has reduced the chance that it will develop into a depression.
