HOUSTON -- Heavy downpours are possible as scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to move inland on Tuesday afternoon, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
“An upper-level low over Louisiana is really helping to destabilize our atmosphere,” said Garner. “This hot and muggy air will stay with us through Saturday.”
We’ll top out around 88 degrees today with a 50-percent chance for rain.
The chance for scattered rain continues the rest of this week with daytime highs around 90 degrees and overnight lows in the lower-70s.
This weekend a cool front will move through the Houston area, leaving us with clear skies by Sunday. Early Sunday morning our temps will bottom out around 60 degrees, and in the afternoon we'll reach a high in the low- to mid-80s.
Monday morning may be even cooler, but daytime heating will quickly get us back into the 80s.
