HOUSTON –- The Houston area is expected to get a needed break from heavy rains on Thursday with just a few clouds in the sky throughout the day, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
There’s a 20-percent chance for rain today with a forecast high of 83 degrees.
“Even though we’re going to stay dry today and we’re going to see more sunshine, it’s actually going to be tomorrow when we’ll welcome in the next chance for showers," said Johnson. "On Friday we could get another big round of rain with 1 to 2 inches expected.”
Friday there’s a 70-percent chance for rain with slightly cooler daytime temps.
Saturday the rain chance will be 60-percent and on Sunday it will be 40-percent.
Next week we start to dry out as our daytime temperatures hit 90 degrees for the first time in a while.
Our overnight lows will be in the low-70s for the next several days.
