HOUSTON -- Upper-level high pressure will keep things hot and dry in the Houston area for the next several days, and we are under the heat dome, said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

Temps will begin at 77 degrees on Wednesday morning and heat up to 97 degrees by the afternoon.

There is no rain in the forecast.

The skies will be partly cloudy for much of this week, but there’s no chance for rain in the seven-day forecast.

This weekend the daytime temperatures jump by a couple of degrees.

Looking to the Atlantic, what’s left of Dorian has pretty much gone away, said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul. “If it had held together it would have gone to the central Gulf, but it would have not come to Houston,” Paul said.
