HOUSTON –- The heat and humidity will be on the rise in Houston on Thursday, but there’s still a slight chance for isolated showers that could bring some relief, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“This morning we started with partly cloudy skies, and I think we’re going to continue to see some cloud cover throughout the day today,” said Johnson.
It was warm and muggy early this morning with temperatures in the mid-70s. This afternoon we’ll top out around 96 degrees with a 10-percent chance for rain. The humidity, however, will make it feel more like it’s 100 degrees outside.
There’s a lingering chance for isolated showers on Friday, too.
By the weekend our chance for rain goes away completely, but there is no relief from the afternoon heat on Father’s Day.
Next week the skies remain sunny with temperatures in the upper-90s.
