HOUSTON – Saturday’s weather is the calm before the storm, but by afternoon the first round of moisture will make its way into the Houston area, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
Saturday morning temps kick off at 74 degrees by 7 a.m. with low winds. It will change during the afternoon when showers move onshore.
Tropical activity out in the Gulf will start to drift inland and beginning Saturday evening through Tuesday, there is a chance for widespread rain.
“We could have some heavy rains by two or three in the afternoon,” Garner said.
Rain chances will be at 40 percent on Saturday, 60 percent on Sunday and Monday, and 50 percent on Tuesday.
Tropical storm Eric is in the eastern Pacific, and two large areas of moisture in the Gulf are moving west toward Houston. The storms may land mid-week.
“This will give us a really good chance for some soakers,” Garner said.
