HOUSTON – There is a slight chance for rain as the Mardi Gras celebration continues this weekend, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
There is an outside chance for a shower and maybe even a thunderstorm as a frontal boundary moves in from the south Saturday evening into Sunday morning. It is a weak front, but that’s the cause for our shower potential.
Expect to see temps start out in the upper-50s Sunday morning with a 30 percent chance for rain.
The chance for rain will continue into the new work week with an increasing chance on Tuesday and Wednesday.
If you plan on heading out to Galveston Island for the celebration, make sure to take a jacket as temps will be much cooler in the evenings near the coast.
Early next week we’ll get near 80 degrees before a front moves through, dropping our temps once again for Wednesday and Thursday.
