HOUSTON – Freezing temperatures are expected for communities north of Houston overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

Just after noontime Tuesday, some residents in Grimes and Montgomery Counties reported seeing large snowflakes in the sky. Paul said the temperatures were too warm for the flakes to stick to the ground.

There’s a 20-percent chance for precipitation Tuesday evening.

Wednesday the skies will be clear with early morning temperatures around 32 degrees and daytime temps near 50.

Thursday morning will be even colder – around 29 degrees.

The clouds stay mostly clear through the weekend as temperatures start to approach 70 degrees again by the start of the next workweek.
