HOUSTON — A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday for most of the Houston area.

Included in the watch are Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, Washington, and Wharton counties.

KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson says the heavy downpours will move off the coast by 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, and we'll get a brief break after that. A chance for scattered rain will continue the rest of this week, however

There's an 80-percent chance for rain Wednesday, 60-percent chance on Thursday, and a 50-percent chance on Friday.

The chance for scattered showers carries over into this weekend and early next week, too.

After the clouds and rain clear out, we'll start to approach 90-degree daytime temps again in the middle of next week.
