HOUSTON -- This afternoon we’ll top out in the mid-90s, but it will feel about 10 degrees hotter than that due to the humidity, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

There’s a 30-percent chance for isolated showers or thunderstorms Monday afternoon, but for most people it will be sunny and hot the rest of the day.

There’s a 30-percent chance for isolated showers on Tuesday as well.

Afternoon temperatures will remain in the mid-90s for the rest of the week.

On Saturday and Sunday, the chance for isolated showers goes up just a little.

Meanwhile in the tropics, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring Tropical Depression #2 in the western Caribbean. It’s heading northwest toward Mexico.

“The big story with this tropical depression will be its rain-producing potential. This means flooding across southeast Mexico,” said Garner. “It will have no affects on the Houston area.”

The depression could become Tropical Storm Barry before making landfall a second time later this week.
