HOUSTON -– The skies over Southeast Texas will be clear and dry on Monday, but a few changes are on the way, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

“Today will be dry, but tomorrow we’ll see rain chances move in for the rest of the week,” said Johnson. “As far as today goes, we are going to be sunny with very calm winds. Because of this, we are going to be under an air quality alert.”

An ozone watch issued by the National Weather Service will peak this afternoon.

There’s a forecast high of 94 degrees Monday.

On Tuesday there’s a 20-percent chance for rain with a forecast high of 93 degrees. The chance for rain sticks around through the weekend with daytime temperatures in the low- to mid-90s.

Looking to the Gulf, the tropical disturbance we were watching last week has pretty much fizzled out and won’t bring any rain to Houston. Tropical Storm Erin also fell apart, so there’s no tropical activity in the Atlantic at this time.
