HOUSTON –- Overnight temperatures were a little cooler heading into Monday morning, setting us up for some relief from the weekend heat, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
The combination of low humidity and a shift in winds helped bring the temps down.
Expect to see highs Monday afternoon in the mid-90s, which is a little more manageable than the triple-digit heat from the last few days.
“Our summer heat is improving,” said Johnson. “On Saturday we were at 107, on Sunday we were 98, but now we’re heading back to a more normal temperature.”
The rest of this week our daytime temps will remain in the low- to mid-90s. It looks like our next chance for rain continues to get pushed back further and further, however.
Our real chance for showers may not come until after the July 4th holiday as there’s a 40-percent chance for rain on this upcoming weekend.
