HOUSTON – Overnight temperatures will be a little cooler than normal for Monday morning as we still look to recover from the weekend’s record heat, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

The combination of low humidity and a shift in winds will help temperatures cool down Sunday night and Monday morning to about 70 degrees downtown and even down to the upper-60s in some areas.

Expect to see highs Monday afternoon in the mid-90s, which is a little more manageable than the triple-digit heat from the last few days.

It looks like our next chance for rain continues to get pushed back further and further back.

Our real chance for showers may not come until after the July 4th holiday, where there is a 40 percent chance of rain on this upcoming weekend.
