HOUSTON – Temperatures will cool down this evening as a cold front quietly moves through the area overnight, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
After temps peaked at 83 Thursday afternoon, expect temperatures to get down to the mid-70s this evening with clear skies. By Friday morning, lows will drop into the mid-50s for most of the Houston area.
Winds will also shift with the cold front, and come from the northeast at 12 to 15 mph. Expect to see highs in the upper-70s for the start of the weekend.
Come Saturday, a few clouds move back into the forecast along with a slight chance for rain. A shift in winds will bring in warmth from the southeast.
The chance for rain jumps to 40 percent on Sunday with scattered showers and then decreases for the start of your workweek.
In the seven-day forecast, overnight temps stay in the 50s and 60s and daytime temps stay in the low-80s.
However, we could see some chilly temps for the Halloween holiday with highs in the low-60s and lows in the upper-40s.
