HOUSTON — The Houston area could see its first 20-degree temperatures of the season later this weekend as another Arctic blast arrives on Sunday, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
Temps started out in the low-40s Saturday morning, but will warm up to the mid-60s later this afternoon under mostly clear skies.
Overnight lows will dip back into the 40s Saturday night and Sunday morning. Highs will be much lower come Sunday with temps peaking the low-50s with more cloud coverage and a 30 percent chance for rain Sunday.
The Arctic blast will arrive later on Sunday bringing overnight temps in the 20s for Monday and Tuesday. Highs will peak in the 40s early next week under clear skies.
Before you go to bed on Sunday, we advise that you cover your plants, bring outdoor pets inside and drip poorly-insulated pipes in preparation for the cold snap.
